Pilgrim's Pride Corporation is a leading Producer of chicken in the United States,
Mexico and Puerto Rico engaging in the production, processing, Marketing, and
distribution of chicken products sold as fresh, frozen, and value added to food service,
retail, supermarkets, restaurants and companies such a Walmart, Kentucky Fried Chicken,
Publix, Wendy's and others. The Company began as a feed store in 1946 at Pittsburg, Texas
operated by brothers Lonnie and Aubrey Pilgrim and has grown to a organization of 38,000 employees
with sales of 8.1 billion. In 2009 Pilgrim's Pride became a subsidiary of mulltinational Brazilian food giant JBS,
the world's largest meat processor, which acquired 75% ownership in the company. Pilgrim's Pride has four plant
operations in Nacogdoches County. They are located at 2948 County Road 230; 7550 East State Hwy. #7; 2842 Farm
